ryan mead, web developerMy day job was developing websites from 1999 to 2004. I specialize in Adobe Flash and hand-coding HTML, and have just now (Feb 2010) ported all my server scripts from Microsoft ASP to PHP (Ubuntu/Apache). If you are in the market for a website, please feel free to have a look at the sites on the left, and then contact me.What is the "Electric Chair?"I chose the name "electric chair" for an Internet business venture that provided technical support for Internet cafés, and the name was an attention-grabbing euphemism for sitting in front of an Internet terminal (which is admittedly a little different from having one's brains fried as punishment). At that time, in 1999, I guessed that the Internet terminal business model might have a lifespan of only 5 years, because the increased availability of broadband would shrink the market for charging by the hour, and I was more or less right. So here we are. These days, I'm realizing my lifelong dreams of becoming a music composer and producer, and the handle "electric chair" doesn't really match that venture. If you are looking for some background music for your film, TV show, or video game, my services are available, and still cheaply (at the moment). Or if you're a singer or rhymer looking for some beats, we just might work something out. Please take it on over to ryanmead dot net for more about that.
download the Photoshop tutorialThis document is intended to provide novice users having only the most primitive understanding of Windows and their digital cameras with some indispensable Adobe Photoshop editing skills.I originally wrote this just for my father, to try to get him into doing more editing than is possible with the Mickey Mouse photo editors that are typically bundled with consumer digital cameras. However, I think anyone interested in using Photoshop for basic photo editing will find this tutorial useful, so I've made it available here in Acrobat PDF format.
This domain name is for sale!Yes, seriously, if you operate a Canadian business under the registered name "electric chair", I will consider parting with this domain name. Please contact me if that's the case.
